The house is
located on a former plantation hill, overlooking the valley. The
ground floor is structured by an arrangement of walls that are carved
into the sloping terrain. The fascade, consisting of glazed sliding
doors, can be opened completely, so that in agreeable weather conditions
the interior space seamlessly fuses with the panoramic terrace.
An elevated volume contains the sleeping rooms. This sculptural
shaped volume is constructed as a room-high structural grid that
cantilevers above the ground floor's fascade for sun protection.
All sleeping rooms are orientated towards individual views and have
shaded loggias at their front. Rooflights offer views into the sky
and serve as ventilation openings.
Aside from entrance-courtyard and terrace the surrounding vegetation
is left in it's charmingly unshaped condition.
